Video playback failed because there was no user interaction yet
How to fix the Video Playback Error

We recommend using Google Chrome over any other browser for best performance.
Why Your Video May Not Play Immediately
When you click Play on the Console, your video is sent to the Player Window to begin playback. However, some browsers and operating systems require a quick interaction with the Player Window before they allow any video with audio to start automatically.
If this interaction hasn’t happened yet, you may see an error such as:
“Video playback failed because there was no user interaction yet.”
Don’t worry—nothing is wrong with your video. The browser is simply waiting for you to confirm that you want it to play.
How to Fix the Issue
To allow the Player Window to play video normally, just make sure you interact with it once before starting playback.
Here are two easy ways to do that:
Option 1 — Click anywhere inside the Player Window
Just click inside the Player Window one time.
After that, press Play on the Console again, and your video will start as expected.
Option 2 — Make the Player Window go fullscreen
If you prefer fullscreen briefing videos:
Click the Player Window
Enter fullscreen mode
Now click Play on the Console
Once the window has been interacted with or made fullscreen, the browser allows video playback without issues.
Why This Happens
For security and user-experience reasons, most browsers do not allow a webpage to start playing video (especially with sound) until the viewer interacts with that page at least once. This prevents unexpected audio from playing.
Escape Room Studio works correctly—the browser is simply enforcing this rule.
